February is American Heart Month, and the American Heart Association is shining a spotlight on cardiovascular health through its Go Red campaign. On Friday, February 6, our team proudly wore red to show our support. Whether in the office, in meetings, or working from home, people joined in to help raise awareness for a disease that affects millions across the country. For each person who participated, PensionmarkMeridien donated $20 to the cause—bringing our total contribution to $180.

Started in 1924 the American Heart Association is dedicated to fighting heart disease and strokes by investing in research and programs for education and prevention. A cause that is very dear to CEO Mikko Passananti.
Mr. Passananti explains, “Both of my maternal grandparents died at different stages of life from heart disease. My grandfather in 1980 and my grandmother in 2001. Further, in 2009 my nephew was born with Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) syndrome”
So when his friend, Donald Zambarano, approached him about joining the leadership team for the AHA’s Heart Ball he enthusiastically said yes. In the past he has donated money, now he gets to help lead the charge in making a difference by donating his time and talents to ensuring that the Southern New England Heart Ball is a success.
